Since my diagnosis with Multiple System Atrophy, my life has taken a new direction. Living with a terminal illness brings not only physical challenges but also the weight of knowing the impact it has on those I love most. I carry a deep burden and guilt for the sorrow my absence will one day leave behind.
Through it all, I am blessed with the best husband—a true partner who has walked every step of this journey with me. We have always been each other’s best friend, inseparable and “attached at the hip.” His honesty in moments of sadness and anger, even reflecting that “all he’s got to look forward to is life without me,” reminds me of the depth of our love and the pain this disease brings.
What keeps me grounded is my faith. I believe we will see each other again, and I cling to that promise. I remind myself often, and it is why I write music to my Savior. Music has become not just an interest, but my way of praying, reflecting, and finding hope even in the midst of suffering.
