Today with MSA
This morning I woke up the usual way with MSA. For a few quiet moments while I lay there, I felt almost normal — and wished this nightmare was only a dream.
With some help, I cleaned what my husband calls my nest. I organized my supplements — and I take quite a few. The truth is, with supplements you never really know what helps until you stop taking them.
Later, I spent time at my computer, searching for new ways to build awareness and raise funds through DefeatMSA.org. This mission keeps me going, even on the harder days.
Now it’s 6:00 p.m. and showers are becoming more difficult. I’m realizing that maybe creating shorts on YouTube — being vulnerable and showing my speech patterns — could help people really understand what life with MSA looks and feels like.
I also used ChatGPT today to help me write a letter to my mom. And I thought about one of my songs, Slips Like Sand, which tells of waking up and having to face the day. You can find it on my YouTube channel if you’d like to listen.
Even though MSA continues to change my world, I keep searching for ways to share my story, raise awareness, and connect with others walking this path.
